Typical Costs When Traveling to Malaysia
Accommodation – The average of a hotel night in Sri Lanka is around 13 USD.
Food – Food is super tasty and most of your meals would be under 3 – 4 USD. Eating at fancier restaurants will increase this cost.
Transportation – Expect a cost of about 3 USD a day if you move with public transportation.
Suggested daily budget – 25 USD (Note: This is a suggested budget assuming you’re staying in a standard hotel, eating out (including street food), and using local transportation. Using the budget tips below, you can always lower this number. However, if you stay in fancier accommodation or eat out more often, expect this to be higher!)

You heard well. Uber-Tuk is a thing in Sri Lanka. Always better to have a fixed price to avoid getting into tourist traps. You'll just have to download the app.

Before you travel, check if you need any special permits. Sri Lanka takes this seriously, is always better to check this to avoid any fines or extra costs when visiting tourist attractions.
