It feels it was yesterday when I moved to Istanbul and I have just left the city for good. Although I am a bit sad to leave, I am also happy I had the opportunity to spend time in such an amazing place on Earth!

🎉 The good news is that I am now on the road! 🚙 For 19 days, I will be traveling around some of the most famous parts of Turkey and I will also be driving a car along the beautiful southern beach towns! 🥰

Tbilisi is not only Georgia’s capital, but also is the best location to be based for a few days while in the country. From here, you can do several day tours and still sleep in the same bed! Sounds ideal, isn’t it?

I did all my tours with @gamarjobageorgiatours They have a great team of local guides and I had a blast during my time traveling with them! (This is not sponsored).

Once you’ve checked your Tbilisi travel bucket list, here is a suggestion on the activities you could do out of the city!

1️⃣ Georgia is known for its wine. Take a tour to Kakheti wine region. You will spend time in Sighnaghi too!

2️⃣ Visit Uplistsikhe, have lunch with locals in Gori, learn about Stalin, and be amazed by Jvari Monastery incredible location and the most beautiful little town, Mtskheta!

3️⃣ Embrace Georgia’s nature. Take a trip to the mountains and visit Ananuri, Gudauri, Kazbegi and Gergeti

4️⃣ From all the things Georgia has to offer this is my favorite. A tour to the Monastery Caves of Vardzia. This tour includes a visit to the Rabati Castle and Borjomi

5️⃣ Take a day adventure to discover Kutaisi, Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canyon. I personally would do this just for the Canyon, it’s incredible!

MY TOP 1 PLACE TO VISIT IN GEORGIA 🥰

📍Vardzia Cave Monastery, Samtsje-Yavajeti, Georgia 🇬🇪

This place is surreal! 🤩 If you want to feel like a dwarf and wander what could definitely be one of the Lord of the Rings movie sets, you need to come to Vardzia!

Vardzia is in fact a cave monastery. Its main construction period took place during the second half of the 12th Century. The caves stretch along the cliff for about five hundred meters in up to nineteen levels! (like what!?)😮

People would live in this cave city. There is a whole water system and caves for daily life purposes, that would allow regular life to happen in this carved mountain.

The monastery was an important cultural center, a place of significant literary and artistic work. The Church of the Dormition (the most important) dates back to the 1180s, during the golden age of Tamar and Rustaveli and has an important series of wall paintings (here is the only painting of Tamar - Georgia's former Queen).

The site was largely abandoned after the Ottoman takeover in the 16th century. However, there are still priests living in the caves now 🤯🤯

Tbilisi was a wonderful surprise, so was the entire country of Georgia 🥰

A week would be perfect to explore Tbilisi and several must-see spots in Georgia! You can visit the city center in a couple days, but I would recommend to stay longer and do several day tours from here (more info coming soon)!

💡Here is a list of the top 10 things to do and see in Tbilisi!

1️⃣ Try all the food (and Wine!) 🥟🍷 Khinkali and Khachapuri are my favorite dishes!
2️⃣ Wander around the Old Town including the city’s main road Shota Rustaveli Avenue
3️⃣ Sneak in the many abandoned courtyards. The city is a massive playground!
4️⃣ Spend an evening at @winefactory_tbilisi this place is a vibe! This is an open air space with wine stalls, restaurants and a DJ!
5️⃣ Visit the flea market on Dry Bridge
6️⃣ Check the leaning clock tower show!
7️⃣ Spend a couple hours strolling the streets of Vake District. Local feel and full of coffee shops!
8️⃣ Take the cable car at Rike Park. You’ll get an amazing view of the city and from there you’ll be able to visit the Botanical Gardens and the Narikala Fortress!
9️⃣ Visit the Chronicles of Georgia
🔟 Spend one morning at the National Museum of Georgia. Key to understand the old and recent history of the country!

When traveling to a new destination. What catches your attention at first sight?

I keep thinking that for me is the architecture of the buildings. Tbilisi centre is somehow old and has some decadent vibe that I really liked. However, if you go north from the touristy hotspots, you will also find new buildings such as the Axis Towers in Vake District.

Hi fam! I hope you had a nice weekend! Just popping here to say I am enjoying my last days in Istanbul before I start the Turkey road trip! Got so much to share and little time to do it between the visits and work!

Good thing is that the road trip is almost fully planned! wooo 🎉🎉 And in the meantime, I am also writing Mexico and Georgia content, preparing to manage a few social media accounts for clients (starting this week) and I am also looking into flights back home, to have a few weeks to visit family and focus on just work 🥲 Madrid and specially the Southern Coast of Spain, will be my main bases for the summer!

Crazy times ahead, but looking into what’s coming with a very optimistic vibe! I keep saying this, but this will be the year! 🤩
